The end of an Era!

On Thursday 21st July 2008, Winteringham School’s kitchen and dining room, known as the school canteen by generations of school children came tumbling down!

Christine Hammond captured the final moments of the buildings, which had served as cinema, party venue, and even baby clinic as well as its main use for serving delicious meals for over sixty years.

But every cloud has a silver lining ... and this one particularly so as the new kitchen and dining room stand spick and span ready to take Winteringham’s school meals into the future!

Also demolished ... this wall outside the school was unintentionally demolished by a lorry delivering to the school at the time of the building and demolition!
