Here’s a potato field on the Cliff, Winteringham on 8th June 2009. Melody are a main crop variety, producing large, white, oval potatoes particularly suitable
for baking and mashing. Marfona is a second early variety, often harvested in August, and great for baked potatoes, so frequently sold in packs of four for that purpose.
